Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Home Crowd Support Following Comfortable Win Over Wales.

The England head coach shared his regret that the Three Lions team did not enjoy more backing from the Wembley fans during their impressive triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was happy to see his squad showcase their good form, with goals from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter settling the contest. Yet, he was unhappy with the atmosphere at the iconic venue.

“We had limited training days to get ready against a well-trained team and we performed excellently,” Tuchel commented. “It could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you provide in the first quarter? We prevented them get away. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the team warranted better encouragement today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a little more support in periods where it is challenging.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to refocus, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Apart from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also created controversy by excluding Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the move was justified by Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and getting his first international goal.

“That’s his style,” Tuchel explained. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who face Belgium in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Monday, take lessons from their awful first-half display.

“That’s the reason I wanted this game,” Bellamy commented. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? This performance gives me inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was substituted at half-time after hitting a goalpost and is a concern when the national team play Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
